Recognizing Contributions to the Field of Sports Medicine
Every year, AOSSM recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to orthopaedic sports medicine and the Society. Award recipients will be announced at the upcoming Annual Meeting. In the meantime, the following awards are open for nominations/applications.
Bruce Reider, MD, Scholarship
Apply by March 1, 2025
This scholarship, in honor of Dr. Bruce Reider, provides funding for Annual Meeting attendance, AOSSM membership, and a one year publishing mentorship to one US Sports Medicine Fellow each year.
Annual Meeting Resident Scholarship
Apply by April 15, 2025
This scholarship is awarded annually to US-based orthopaedic surgery residents in their third, fourth or fifth year of training. Recipients receive funding to attend the AOSSM Annual Meeting and mentorship with AOSSM Early Career Members.
VJSM Fellows Challenge
Apply by April 1, 2025
Submit your research and compete for top honors! Selected finalists will present before a panel of judges, with a winner crowned each year at the Annual Meeting. Fellows and residents interested in participating should submit their 8-10 minute video per the VJSM Author Guidelines, selecting “VJSM Fellows Video Challenge” as the article type within the submission portal. Masters Competition
Nominate by May 15, 2025
This competition celebrates sports medicine luminaries as they compete for the coveted AOSSM Red Jacket each year at the Annual Meeting.
The Masters Competition will take place on The Turf in the Fieldhouse in Nashville, TN, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2:30pm.
